PR05005 MAYAN GOLD
Yellow Trumpet Bush Seeds
The first Tecoma available from seed, Mayan Gold produces large, exotic golden-yellow trumpets that attract butterflies and hummingbirds. Long known as a stunning heat and drought tolerant shrub for the South, it can be grown as annual everywhere, blooming in just 12-16 weeks from seed. It is similar in its cultural needs and garden use as bougainvillea and Mandevilla.
In the North it grows to 24-36 inches tall the first year, blooms all summer and lends a lush tropical effect to garden beds and patio containers. In the South (zones 8 and above) bloom is from spring through late summer and the plants mature as showy 8 foot foot shrubs. Mayan Gold drops its flowers before they wither, and is especially beautiful when placed where it can form golden carpets on the surrounding ground. Grow as a perennial in zone 8 and above, and as an annual everywhere else.
