Yellow Trumpet Bush Seeds
'Mayan Gold is the first Tecoma available from seed. It produces large, exotic golden-yellow trumpets that attract butterflies and hummingbirds. Long known as a stunning heat and drought tolerant shrub for the South, it can be grown as annual everywhere, flowering in just 12-16 weeks from seed. 'Mayan Gold' Tecoma is similar to Bougainvillea and Mandevilla in its cultural needs and garden use.
In the North the Yellow Trumpet Bush grows to 24-36 inches tall the first year, flowers all summer and lends a lush, tropical effect to garden beds and patio containers. In the South (zones 8 and above) flowering is from spring through late summer and plants mature as showy, 8 foot tall shrubs. 'Mayan Gold' Tecoma drops its flowers before they wither, and is especially beautiful when placed where it can form golden carpets of flowers on the surrounding ground. Grow as a perennial in zones 8 and above, and as an annual everywhere else.
