Lamb's Tail, Pink Pussy Tails
'JOEY' LAMB'S TAILPtilotus
Masses of 3-5 inch soft lavender and white fuzzy flower spikes from late spring until frost provide plentiful cut flowers. When backlit by the sun, blooms shimmer in shades of silver and neon pink. Easy to grow 16-18 inch tall plants with unique silver-green leaves, look nice massed in the landscape, added to mixed borders, planted in containers. A heat and drought tolerant Australian native.
How to Plant Ptilotus Seeds
Sow Ptilotus seed in cell packs or flats, press into soil and barely cover. Needs light to germinate. Kept at 75-80° F., germination is in 5-15 days. Transplant into the garden 8-10 inches apart after all danger of frost.
