Organically grown. An extremely cold hardy addition to the cool-season garden. Bandit is shorter and more compact than most leeks, with beautiful, deep blue-green leaves. Thick, cylindrical white stalks have a mild onion flavor. Developed in Holland, Bandit has good resistance to rust and is slow to bolt.
Growing Bandit Leek Seeds
Direct sow, 2-inch spacing, ¼ to ½ inch deep, in rows 24 inches apart. Kept at 60-65°F., germination is in 10-14 days. Thin to 4 to 6 inches apart. Harvest when stalks are ½ inch in diameter or larger.
