Purple Bell Vine
Rhodochiton atrosanguineum
This incredibly free flowering 10 foot vine features masses of bell-shaped maroon flowers with deep purple corollas, which hang gracefully from ends of threadlike stems. The green leaves are smooth textured, and heart-shaped. Makes stunning hanging baskets or train up string trellises. Prefers afternoon shade. Perennial in frost free climates it is grown as annual everywhere else. Begins blooming in about 16 weeks from seed.
How to Plant PURPLE BELL VINE Seeds
Sow seed in cell packs or flats, press into soil and barely cover. Needs light to germinate. Kept at 70-80° F., germination averages 12-40 days.
