Nicholas

While a Computer Wrangler—a perfectly cromulent job title—by trade, Nicholas has also been fond of gardening and agriculture throughout his life. He was a member of the Future Farmers of America in high school, in which he and his classmates built and maintained several water culture hydroponic tanks. He’s especially fond of natural agricultural systems. Did you know that rice farmers in Bali keep flocks of ducks which they herd into and out of rice paddies to eat bugs and algae, and fertilize the rice? No need for pesticides or artificial fertilizers!

He’s also fond of beneficial critters, especially bees, arachnids, and butterflies! He wishes more people would grow flowers that benefit the bees and butterflies, and that people were kinder to spiders; after all, they eat the bugs that would otherwise be eating plants.
