Red Flint
Ageratum Seeds
Red Flint ageratum blooms in an unusual color palette for ageratums, warm shades of rose-pink to magenta-red. Clusters of ¼ in. fluffy flowers atop 24 in. straight, sturdy stems are long-lasting in fresh cut and dried arrangements. Red Flint looks beautiful summer through fall in sunny garden borders as well as in mixed containers, where the fine, floss-like texture contrasts well with bold summer annuals like zinnias, marigolds, and petunias.
Growing Red Flint Ageratum Seeds
Plant Ageratum Seeds: Sow seeds in cell packs or flats, press into soil but do not cover. Needs light to germinate. Kept at 75°F., germination is in 5-14 days. Can direct sow after all danger of frost in groups of 3-4 seeds spaced 6-12 in. apart. Thin to the strongest plant.
Grow Ageratum: Full sun in cooler climates, part shade elsewhere. Prefers rich, moist soil. Blooms are extraordinarily long-lived, dead heading is necessary, yet infrequent. Plants are low maintenance, resist rabbits and deer. Flowers attract bees and butterflies.
