The non-fade, bold foliage of Premium Sun Chocolate Covered Cherry coleus is beautiful even in full sun with high humidity. Foliage is a deep mahogany color, center of the leaf is rose, borders are thin and green. Plants grow 12-18 in. tall, flower late, provide a long season of color. Premium Sun Chocolate Covered Cherry coleus is showy in borders or pots, in full sun (in humid areas only) to light shade.
Growing Premium Sun Chocolate Covered Cherry Coleus Seeds
Plant Premium Sun Coleus Seeds: Sow seed in cell packs or flats, use a sterilized soil-less mix. Press seeds into soil, do not cover. Needs light to germinate. Kept at 70-75°F., seedlings emerge in 10-14 days. After all danger of frost transplant into 4 in. containers, or into the garden 12 to 18 in. apart. Direct sowing is not recommended.
Grow Premium Sun Coleus: Part shade to full sun. Rich, moist soil. The Premium Sun series of coleus will tolerate full sun in many areas — plants prefer part shade in the low humidity climates common to the Western United States. Remove flowers as they form to keep foliage visible, healthy and growing. Near the end of the season, allow some of the nectar-rich flowers to form. Blooms will attract hummingbirds and butterflies.
