Sriracha Violet
Cuphea Seeds
Six showy, delicate-looking papery petals in a glowing violet purple shade adorn the top of Sriracha Violet cuphea's tubular flowers, attracting many pollinators, including hummingbirds and butterflies. Bushy plants grow 18-24 in. tall and wide, do not need staking, and show great resistance to heat and drought. Sriracha Violet cuphea is quick to bloom, within about 75 days from transplant. A tender perennial, typically grown as an annual, winter hardy to zone 9.
Growing Sriracha Violet Cuphea Seeds
Sow cuphea seed in cell packs or flats using a sterile seed starting mix. Press seeds gently into soil, but do not cover. Needs light to germinate. Kept at 70-75°F., germination averages 7 to 14 days. Transplant seedings into the garden 12 in. apart after all danger of frost.
