Santo
Cilantro Seeds
Fresh cilantro leaf is an important ingredient in Mexican and Asian cuisine, its spicy flavor is superb in salsas, stir-fries and curries. The aromatic seeds (Coriander) have an orange-like flavor, are used as seasoning for pastries, beans, stews and sausages. Santo is slower to bolt than common cilantro. Annual. Packet is 2 grams, about 150 seeds.
Growing Santo Cilantro Seeds
Plant Cilantro Seeds: Sow seeds in cell packs or flats, press into soil and lightly cover. Darkness aids germination. Kept at 65-75°F., gemination averages 7-14 days. Transplant seedlings 9-12 in. apart. Can direct sow cilantro into prepared seed beds when soil temperature is above 60°F.
Grow Cilantro: For leaf production, full sun or afternoon shade. For seed production provide full sun. Cilantro performs best when grown in fertile soil, with regular moisture.
