Shirley Poppy Seeds
Organically grown. Pierrot Shirley poppy's 3 in. cup-shaped flowers have 4 silky, bright scarlet petals, each decoratively marked with a large dark blotch at the base. Wiry stems reach 24 to 30 in. tall, well above the ferny, blue-green foliage. Pierrot poppies naturalize well, and are best sown directly in the ground or in large pots. Packet is ¼ gram, about 1,800 seeds.
Growing Pierrot Shirley Poppy Seeds
Direct sow Shirley poppies into prepared seed beds that have been cleared of weeds and have had the top 1 in. of soil loosened. Rake seed in. Press into soil by walking over the area. Keep moist until germination. Kept at 60-75°F., germination is in 14-21 days. Can start indoors in 2 in. containers.
