How to Plant Cape Daisy Seeds

Orange Cape Daisy orange blooms.

Sow seed in cell packs or flats, press into soil and lightly cover. Kept at 70° F., germination is in 14-21 days. Can be direct sown into prepared seed beds after all danger of frost, 3 inches apart. Thin to 1 foot apart.

Growing Cape Daisies: Full sun, moderate to average water. Plants prefer fertile, well-drained soil. Tolerates heat, will take some drought once established. Flowers are excellent for cutting, and will attract bees, butterflies and birds. Cutting seedheads leads to maximum bloom. Consider leaving a few seedheads for the birds to eat, especially late in the season. Easy to grow, low maintenance plants.
