Acmella oleracea syn. Spilanthes oleracea
The 12-15 inch mounded plants spread to 24-30 inches across and produce unusual golden-yellow olive-shaped blooms with deep burgundy eyes over a long summer season. Eyeball Plant is also known as Toothache plant because its leaves and flowers contain spilanthol, a natural analgesic agent that can be used to numb a toothache! They are terrific for cutting and quite showy when massed. Peek-a-Boo also looks great combined with other annuals in patio containers. Packet is 25 seeds.
How to Plant EYEBALL PLANT Seeds
Sow seed in cell packs or flats, press into soil and barely cover. Needs light to germinate. Kept at 65-70° F., germination averages 14-21 days. Transplant into the garden 18 inches apart after all danger of frost.
