Trailing growth to 8-12 inches tall and 3 feet across. Delightful rose-pink phlox-like flowers are held in loose sprays and cover the plants in May and June. A terrific ground cover, or let it spill over the sides of raised beds. Needs good drainage. Winter hardy to zone 2. Packet is 1/8 ounce about 2,000 seeds.
How to Plant SOAPWORT Seeds
Sow seed in peat pots or cell packs, press into soil and lightly cover. Kept at 65 degrees F., germination is in 15-25 days. Can direct sow in groups of 6 seeds spaced 18 inches apart. Thin to the strongest plant.
