SOAPWORT Saponaria seeds
Trailing growth to 8-12 inches tall and 3 feet across. Delightful rose-pink phlox-like flowers are held in loose sprays and cover the plants in May and June. A terrific ground cover, or let it spill over the sides of raised beds. Needs good drainage. Winter hardy to zone 2.
How to Plant Soapwort Seeds
Sow seed in 2 inch pots or cell packs, press into soil and lightly cover. Kept at 65° F., germination is in 15-25 days. Can direct sow into prepared seed beds in groups of 6 seeds spaced 18 inches apart. Thin to the strongest plant.
