Organically grown. A wonderful, extremely cold hardy addition to the cool-season garden! A bit shorter and more compact than most leeks, with beautiful, deep blue-green leaves and contrasting thick, cylindrical white stalks that have a mild, onion flavor. Developed in Holland, this winter-harvest leek has good resistance to rust and is slow to bolt.
Direct sow, 2-inch spacing, ¼ to ½ inch deep, in rows 24 inches apart. Thin to 4 to 6 inches apart. Harvest when stalks are ½ inch in diameter or larger.
